Aoyama Harps

The Aoyama business dates back to the 1880's, when the Jitaroh Aoyama family specialized in the repair of musical instruments such as the violin and organ. The Aoyama Musical Instrument Manufacturing company was founded in 1897 to manufacture stringed instruments including the violin and cello. When Masao Aoyama, who had an overwhelming love of the harp, assumed control of the business, he started production of Aoyama Folk Harps. Kenzo Aoyama, the present successor of the businees, began production of concert grand harps and brought the family world wide recognition as an international harp maker. In 1992, the new Aoyama harp factory was completed. With the experience of makng musical instruments for over a century and a close association with musicians, Aoyama Harps are produced in harmony with both tradition and new techniques.
